Top 5 Tips for an Organized School Year
Back-to-school success starts with organization!
Here are my top 5 tips for keeping your kids (and you) on track all year long.
1. Centralized Family Calendar
Use a physical calendar to keep track of important dates like tests, school events, assignments, extracurricular activities, and appointments. Color-code by family member or activity for easy reference.
2. Set up a Sacred Study Space
Designate a clutter-free area for schoolwork with all necessary supplies (pens, paper, charger). Keep it organized and minimize distractions to encourage focus.
3. Establish a routine to encourage predictability
Develop a consistent schedule for waking up, homework, and bedtime. A routine helps manage time effectively and reduces the stress of last-minute cramming or rushing.
4. Prepare the Night Before
Pack backpacks, lay out clothes, and prepare lunches and snacks the night before. This minimizes the morning rush and ensures everything is ready to go for the day ahead.
5. Use Labels and Checklists
Label supplies, folders, and binders to keep everything organized and easily accessible. Checklists can help students stay on top of daily tasks and long-term projects.
